Shirin Salehi
Biografía (español)
Nacida en Teherán (Irán) en 1982, reside y trabaja actualmente en Madrid. Es técnico superior de grabado y técnicas de estampación por la Escuela de Arte número Diez de Madrid (2009-2012). Ha profundizado sus conocimientos en grabado en los talleres del Círculo de Bellas Artes durante los últimos cuatro años junto a cursos como el módulo de Calcografía del Master de Obra gráfica de la Fundación CIEC con Alejandro Fernández Arango, Tita Fraga, Anne Heyvaert, y prácticas con Antonio Palomo en el taller de “Obra gráfica original”, entre otros. Actualmente continúa su formación e investigación en la gráfica en el taller de grabado de José Rincón . Paralelamente a su formación en grabado, ha asistido al taller de la pintora madrileña Sonia Alonso (2008-2012).
Es miembro de la Asociación de Mujeres Artistas Visuales y de la Asociación Española de Pintores y Escultores donde actualmente colabora como docente de los cursos de grabado calcográfico. Su obra se ha hecho acreedora de becas nacionales e internacionales como beca del Círculo de Bellas Artes para formación en la fundación CIEC y becas de residencia artística en la Fundação Bienal de Cerveira (2012) y en el centro de creación aLfaRa StuDio (Salamanca, 2011). Ha sido galardonada en diversos certámenes destacando: 1er premio I Concurso internacional FIGBilbao (2012), 1er premio XIX Concurso internacional de grabado “Villa de Cebreros” (2012), 3° premio Certamen nacional de grabado “José Caballero” (2012), 3° premio XXXIII Certamen de minicuadros (2012), selección en el XIX Premio Nacional de Grabado (2012), selección en el XXI Certamen Jóvenes Creadores del Ayuntamiento Madrid (2012), selección en el XXXX y XXXIX certamen “Carmen Arozena” (2012 y 2011), 1er premio XVIII Concurso de socios del Círculo BBAA Madrid (2011) y 1er premio X y IX Concurso día de la mujer, Distrito del Retiro, Ayuntamiento de Madrid (2011 y 2010). Dentro de sus exposiciones individuales destacan: “¿Quién escribirá nuestra historia si estamos condenados al silencio?” (Showroom Brita Prinz, Madrid, 2012) y “Nuevo nacimiento” (Centro Cultural Persépolis, Madrid, 2009). Entre las exposiciones colectivas en las que ha participado: Fundación FIART (Madrid, 2013), el Reial Cercle Artístic (Barcelona, 2013), Fundación CIEC (Betanzos, 2012), Galería José Rincón (Madrid, 2012), La cajita del arte, la Dominotería (Madrid, 2012), Centro Cultural Hortaleza (Madrid, 2012), "Amenaza la ruina", Escuela de Arte número Diez (Madrid, 2011), Deus máquina (Madrid, 2011) y el Círculo de Bellas Artes (Madrid, 2011) entre otros.
Su obra se encuentra en las colecciones de la Fundação Bienal de Cerveira (Portugal), Fundación CIEC, Fundación Marazuela, Colección FIGBilbao, la Biblioteca Nacional de España, Centro de Creación aLfaRa StuDio, el ayuntamiento de Madrid, el ayuntamiento de Cebreros y el Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid.

Biography (english)
Born in Tehran/Iran in1982, and currently lives and works in Madrid/Spain. She graduated as Superior Technician in printmaking techniques by the Arte10 School of Arts in Madrid. She has deepened her expertise in engraving at the Circle of Fine Arts engraving atelier during the past four years along with other courses as chalcography module of the Master of graphic work of the CIEC Foundation, and practices in the workshop of "Original graphic work" among others. She continues to further her training and research in printmaking technics in José Rincón Printmaking Atelier. In addition to her training in engraving, she has frequently attended the workshop of the painter Sonia Alonso (2008-2012). She is a member of the Association of Women in the Visual Arts and the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors where she currently works as the teacher of the engraving courses. She has been recipient of national and international scholarships as the Circle of Fine Arts grant for the CIEC Foundation training and artistic residencies at Cerveira Biennal Foundation, and at the Center of creation aLfaRa StuDio, Salamanca. She has won numerous competitions as follows: 1st prize international competition FIGBilbao (2012), 1st prize 19th International contest of engraving "Villa de Cebreros" (2012), 3rd Prize national competition of engraving "José Caballero" (2012), 3rd Prize 33rd Certamen de minicuadros (2012), Selection in the19th national prize of engraving (2012), Selection in the 21st competition of the young creators of Madrid (2012), Selection in the 39th and 40th international print award Carmen Arozena (2011 and 2012), 1st prize 18th contest partners of the Circle of Fine Arts of Madrid (2011), 1st prize in the 10th and 9th competition of the international Women’s day (2011 and 2010), district of Retiro, Madrid City Council.
Among her solo exhibitions are: "Who will write our story if we are condemned to silence...?" (Showroom Brita Prinz, Madrid, 2012) and "New birth" (Centro Cultural Persepolis, Madrid, 2009).
